Find Us - Directions To The Tucan Hotel In Costa Rica
Coming to the Toucan? We are in central Uvita. Take the paved road directly
across the highway from the restaurant Soda Naranjito (heading east) & go 100
meters. The Tucan Hotel will be on your right. We are across from the restaurant
Soda Salem. See the directions below:
From San
José -
From San José take the Interamerican Highway south to San Isidro de El
General, then the road southwest to Dominical, then the coast road south
to Uvita.
By Bus -
Take the Musoc bus to San Isidro. The Musoc terminal is at Ave 20 y
Calle Central. There is a bus every hour from 5:30 AM til 5:30 PM. It
takes about 3 hrs and the cost is about $3. (You can take a Tracopa bus
from the Coca Cola but there is a greater chance of getting robbed or
losing your luggage.) If you leave after 12:30 you will not be able to
connect with the Uvita bus and will have to stay the night in San Isidro
or take a taxi (about $25). In San Isidro walk 3 blocks south to the
Uvita bus terminal. Ask anyone for directions. The bus to Uvita leaves
at 9 AM and 4 PM. The cost is 665 colones or about $1.50 and it takes 2
hours. Uvita is not quite an hour after Dominical and you get off the
bus just after the Gas Station.
From Quepos (Manuel Antonio) -
From Quepos or Manuel Antonio, just take the coast road south past
Dominical and into Uvita. The road is unpaved and in bad condition -
expect an adventure.
By Bus -
You can take the San Isidro bus to Dominical and change to the Uvita
bus. The San Isidro bus leaves Quepos at 5 AM and 1:30 PM takes about 2
hrs and costs about $1.50. The Uvita bus leaves Dominical at 10 AM and 5
PM takes about 1 hr and costs about $0.75. You can also take the Uvita
bus from Quepos. Check at the terminal for times. There are 2 buses - one
at about 10:30 AM and the other at about 6:30 PM. It takes about 3 hrs
and costs about $1.50.
From Panama -
Take the Interamerican Highway north to San Isidro de El General, then
the road southwest to Dominical, then the coast road south to Uvita.
By Bus - From the border take a Tracopa bus to Palmar Norte or take a
border (Frontera)
bus to Ciudad Neily and then change to a bus to Palmar Norte. From
Palmar Norte take a bus to Cortes. Depending on the bus you took you
might have to walk a couple of blocks to the center of Palmar Norte to
get the bus to Cortes. From Cortes take the bus to Uvita. Check with the
bus drivers for times. There are only 2 or 3 buses a day from Cortes.
From Puerto Jimenez (Corcovado) -
From Puerto Jiménez or the Osa Peninsula, first head north to the
Interamerican Highway. Take the highway north to San Isidro de El General,
then the road southwest to Dominical, then the coast road south to Uvita.
By Bus - Take the bus to Palmar Norte. From Palmar Norte take the bus to Cortes.
From Cortes take the bus to Uvita. (see Panama directions)
From the Caribbean -
You can go back to San José and follow the San José directions or you can go to
Panama crossing the border at Sixaola and going on to Changanola. From
there you take a bus over the mountains to David and then another bus to
the border at Paso Canoas. (see Panama directions)
Live, love, laugh, learn, teach, cry, sing, dance. Be fascinated with
life and remember - "You create your own reality and life unfolds as
it should."
